My usual strategy for coping with New England winters is to escape for warmer climes for six or seven weeks in the middle of the season, but February and the beginning of March remain a source of wanting to silence my own eyes out with a fireplace poker. In order to fend off that sensation, I’ve added a Surly Pugs to my motley collection of bicycles. The new color certainly helped me along.
As often reported, this thing is a blast to ride. The tires — running six to fourteen PSI — provide astonishing float, and this is the key to the Pugsley’s prowess on all sorts of mountain biking terrain.
